Licences and credentials
Add your licences and certificates; whodo checks them and your page shows what's checked.
Some work usually needs a licence, a certificate or insurance (refrigeration, gas, electrical, child care…). Add yours and whodo checks it. Your page then shows it with a label:
- Checked (with the date): whodo saw the document or checked its number with the registry.
- Waiting to be checked: sent, not checked yet.
- Expired (with its date).
A credential that didn't check out isn't shown to anyone: you see why, and can send a better photo.
Customers see the label, who issued it, where it's from and the dates. Never the document or its number: those stay between you and whodo.
Credentials are for information. Anyone can offer any service. Customers can choose Only show checked when they look for a business or post a job, and for dangerous work (gas, electrical, child care) they see a stronger warning when a business isn't checked for it. With more than one kind of work, pick each service's Kind of work (Hours and services) so the warning fits what's booked.
The business's own
- Go to Settings → Profile, then Credentials (owners and admins).
- Under For which work, pick one of your kinds of work, then Where it's from and What it is (the list comes from each province's rules). Not on the list? Pick Other.
- Add its number, the dates, and a photo or PDF (700 KB at most). A photo or a number is needed: whodo checks with them.
- Tap Send it to be checked.
By kind of work shows where you stand for each: checked, waiting, expired, or nothing on file.
A licence that's yours (your staff too)
A licence belongs to the person who holds it: the refrigeration mechanic, the electrician. It goes with them from one job to the next.
1. Go to Your account → Credentials.
2. Add it the same way.
3. Tick Show it at a business you work for. Untick it to stop. When you leave that business's staff, it stops by itself.
The business sees it under Shown by your people, and its page shows it with your name.
When it ends
30 days before a checked credential ends, we email (and notify) its holder; on its end date (its last good day) we tell them again; the day after, it shows as Expired. Add the renewed one and whodo checks it.
